Blood sugar is higher after breakfast than after lunch, does it need to be treated?

Whether the blood sugar after breakfast is higher than that after lunch depends on whether there is an abnormality in the blood sugar value, if it is higher than the normal blood sugar value, then treatment is needed, if only the blood sugar after breakfast is higher than that after lunch, but both of them belong to the normal range of blood sugar, treatment is not generally needed. Postprandial blood glucose generally refers to the blood glucose two hours after a meal. The normal range of blood glucose concentration two hours after a meal should be less than 7.8 mmol/L, so as long as the blood glucose two hours after breakfast or lunch meets this range, treatment is generally not required. However, if the blood glucose 2 hours after breakfast or lunch exceeds 7.8mmol/L, treatment should be considered. If the blood glucose value is in the range of 7.8~11.1mmol/L, it belongs to the stage of impaired glucose tolerance, which can be controlled by dietary control, appropriate exercise and other means only. If the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose value exceeds 11.1mmol/L, it should be combined with typical clinical symptoms such as “three more and one less” (more drinking, more eating, more urination, and weight loss) or repeated measurements to determine whether it has reached the conditions of diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, if diagnosed diabetes mellitus, it is necessary to use hypoglycemic drugs such as acarbose to treat diabetes mellitus, based on dietary control and appropriate exercise. If diabetes is diagnosed, it should be treated with hypoglycemic drugs such as acarbose on the basis of dietary control and proper exercise. If you have abnormal blood glucose levels, we recommend that you seek medical attention.
