What is coronary heart disease?

Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, or coronary heart disease for short, is by far the most common form of heart disease and is currently the number one killer of human health. Our heart never stops working during our lifetime, and the nutrition it needs to work is supplied through the coronary arteries. The basic pathological change of coronary heart disease is due to atherosclerosis of coronary arteries and thrombosis on this basis leading to narrowing or even occlusion of coronary arteries, which leads to angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and triggers arrhythmia and heart failure. The main diagnostic methods for coronary artery disease are electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound, multi-row CT and coronary angiography. Multi-row CT and coronary angiography are the ultimate means to confirm the diagnosis. Don’t worry if you have coronary heart disease, there are already better treatments for coronary heart disease. The treatment of coronary artery disease includes medication, interventional therapy and surgical heart bypass surgery. Among them, medication is the basis, while whether the patient needs interventional or surgical treatment depends on the patient’s condition.
