Tobramycin Dexamethasone Eye Drops are used for the treatment of inflammatory ophthalmic lesions, bacterial infections of the ocular surface, chronic uveitis, and corneal injuries from various causes. Tobramycin Dexamethasone Eye Drops is composed of tobramycin and dexamethasone, tobramycin has antibacterial effect on some gram-negative bacilli, such as streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, etc.; dexamethasone reduces the permeability of blood vessels and cell membranes, and reduces the inflammatory exudation. The drug can be used for inflammatory ophthalmic lesions responsive to adrenocorticotropic hormones and bacterial infections of the ocular surface or in cases where there is a risk of infection; it is also indicated for chronic anterior uveitis, chemical, radiological, cauterizing and foreign body penetrating corneal injuries. Side effects of the drug include eye infections, endocrine disorders, increased intraocular pressure, optic nerve damage, eye congestion, and blurred vision. Contraindications include herpes simplex virus keratitis, cowpox, chickenpox, and some corneal and conjunctival disorders due to viral infections, Mycobacterium ophthalmicum infections, and fungal infections of the eye; those who are allergic to any of the ingredients in this product; and those who have not had complete removal of a foreign body from the cornea.
