  The patient with advanced uremia has a reduced appetite, plus a small amount of blood and protein is inevitably lost with each dialysis. Therefore, the diet of uremic patients should pay attention to the following aspects: 1, eat more milk, eggs, lean meat, fish and other animal protein, less soy products and other plant protein, because the low utilization of plant protein will aggravate uremia. Protein deficiency is more common in elderly patients. Muscle atrophy, weight loss, the amount of protein needed to be relatively high.  2, sufficient heat to ensure the body’s protein storage. If the supplement is not enough, it can lead to malnutrition; too much, it can cause hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis and other diseases. The calorie intake is mainly cereals, less sucrose and fruit foods. Try to eat less fat, especially animal fat.  3, food fiber not only to prevent constipation, but also to help reduce serum cholesterol and triglycerides. The human body needs about 20 grams of dietary fiber per day. Food fiber rich in potatoes (potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.), coarse grains (corn, sorghum, buckwheat, oat noodles, etc.), vegetables, fruits and hard fruit foods (peanuts, walnuts, etc.). If hemodialysis patients consume 270 grams of vegetables per day, it can provide 20 grams of dietary fiber.  4, low urine volume or dialysis frequency, high potassium patients, must strictly control the food containing high potassium, such as pears, bananas, etc.. Those who have severe hypertension, edema or high blood sodium should control the intake of sodium, 4-5 grams of salt or less per day. Patients with little urine, hypertension, swelling, should also strictly limit the amount of water, the daily water intake should not exceed the amount of urine excreted.
