The highest part of the dorsum of the foot is located in the position of the navicular bone, the pain around the navicular bone may be caused by physiological factors such as shoe extrusion, or may be caused by local trauma, tendon sheath cysts, arthritis and other pathologic factors. 1. Physiological factors: may be because of wearing shoes smaller or ill-fitting, on the dorsum of the navicular bone protruding parts of the foot caused by extrusion of the pain, change comfortable shoes, appropriate rest can be relieved. 2. Local trauma: If the dorsum of the foot is smashed by heavy objects and other factors, resulting in local soft tissue injury or fracture of the navicular bone, it will cause local pain, accompanied by swelling and local skin bruising. 3. Tendon sheath cyst: due to the protrusion of navicular bone, it is easy to cause chronic wear and tear of the surrounding soft tissues, thus tendon sheath inflammation or tendon sheath cyst occurs. Due to the extrusion of the shoe surface, pain in the dorsum of the foot can occur, and the protruding part of the dorsal bone of the foot can appear as a nodule or become more protruding. 4. Arthritis: when osteoarthritis or gouty arthritis occurs in the ankle joint, it will also be pulled by the muscle and nerve, causing pain in the dorsal part of the foot. The pain in the highest part of the dorsum of the foot may also be caused by other reasons.
