How to take simethicone during a colonoscopy

In general, take 2 ml (50 drops total) of simethicone emulsion three times each time the day before the colonoscopy. On the morning of the examination, take 2 ml (50 drops) of simethicone emulsion, or as directed by the physician.
The day before the colonoscopy and the morning of the examination, the patient should take 2 ml (50 drops) of simethicone oil emulsion directly by mouth, without diluting it with water, to remove the gas in the intestinal tract and facilitate the examination and treatment of colonoscopy.
Simethicone emulsion is not only a dual contrast contrast suspension additive, but also a functional gastrointestinal medication for the treatment of discomfort caused by excessive gas collection in the gastrointestinal tract. It is therefore often used as an adjunct to abdominal imaging and as a medication to regulate gastrointestinal function.
Colonoscopy is the most direct, commonly used and effective method of examining intestinal diseases, which can be categorized into colonoscopy and small enteroscopy according to the different parts of the examination. During the examination, the colonoscope needs to be inserted from the anus to observe the intestinal mucosal lesions. Colonoscopy can be used to directly treat microscopic bleeding and polyps during the examination. Simethicone is recommended to be used under the guidance of a medical professional.
