Prickly heat should be treated with general treatment or medication. General treatment means choosing loose and comfortable clothing to minimize contact with the affected area; keeping the skin clean, hygienic, dry and comfortable; paying attention to daily ventilation and lowering the temperature appropriately; and using ice packs or clean wet towels to apply ice on the affected area to alleviate the discomfort. Medications include topical medications, such as powder such as prickly heat powder, or cooling agents such as glycerite lotion, etc. Mupirocin cream and 2% ichthyol glycerite lotion can be used for pustular heat rash. Systemic medication can also be used. If the infection of prickly heat is more serious, antibiotics such as amoxicillin should be taken under the supervision of a physician. After the emergence of prickly heat should actively take treatment, if the general treatment is still uncomfortable, should follow the doctor’s prescription medication, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
