Causes of dry cough and hoarseness

Dry cough hoarseness may be related to acute laryngitis, chronic laryngitis, laryngeal leukoplakia and so on.
1. Acute laryngitis: due to infection, allergy and adverse physical and chemical factors under the action of stimulation, can cause redness and swelling of the vocal cords and hoarseness. Patients are prone to laryngeal discomfort, dryness, burning sensation, foreign body sensation, mild pain in the larynx and the front of the trachea, and irritating dry cough after inhaling cold air or noxious fumes.
2. Chronic laryngitis: repeated episodes of acute laryngitis, endocrine disorders, vitamin deficiency and other reasons, can lead to the expansion of the capillaries of the vocal folds mucosa congestion, fibrous tissue hyperplasia, mucosal hypertrophy. Triggered hoarseness, dry cough, some patients speak more and sore throat.
3. Laryngeal leukoplakia: the vocal folds squamous epithelium of different degrees of keratinized layer thickening, incomplete keratinization, the surrounding mucosal inflammatory reaction, resulting in hoarseness, laryngeal itching, coughing and laryngeal sensation of foreign body. This disease is often associated with smoking, alcohol consumption, improper use of voice, chronic laryngitis, reflux pharyngitis and vitamin or trace element deficiencies.
When dry cough hoarseness may also be related to vocal cord nodules, vocal cord polyps and other diseases, it is recommended to actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination, in order to clarify the diagnosis and etiology.
