Atorvastatin Effects and Side Effects

Atorvastatin has the efficacy of treating primary hypercholesterolemia and lowering lipids. Side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, rash, dizziness, blurred vision, dysgeusia, arthralgia, and abnormalities of liver enzymes may occur with its administration. Atorvastatin is a commonly used lipid-lowering drug in clinical practice, which can be used in the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and has good lipid-lowering effect. Atorvastatin adverse reactions (side effects): taking may occur gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, rash, dizziness, blurred vision, taste disorders, arthralgia, liver enzyme abnormalities and other side effects. Atorvastatin precautions: blood cholesterol and blood creatine phosphokinase should be checked regularly during the use of the drug; renal insufficiency should reduce the dose of the product; in the course of treatment, if the occurrence of blood aminotransferase increased up to three times the normal high limit, or blood creatine phosphokinase increased significantly or myositis, pancreatitis manifestations, the product should be discontinued. Contraindications to atorvastatin: It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the product, active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of blood aminotransferase, pregnant and lactating women. Atorvastatin treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor, and in case of any of the above mentioned discomforts, immediate medical attention should be sought.
