How men can self-check their fertility

Men cannot check their fertility through self-examination. Fertility test requires professional laboratory tests combined with doctor’s analysis to make a comprehensive decision, and the test items include erection and ejaculation function test, sperm quality test, testicular development test, and many other tests.
1. Erectile and ejaculatory function test: If a man has erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction, he is likely to be unable to deliver semen to a woman, and thus unable to have children. By checking whether a man’s erectile and ejaculatory functions are normal, a preliminary diagnosis of fertility can be made.
2. Sperm quality examination: Fertility examination also requires observation of semen, including the quantity, quality and morphology of sperms. Under normal circumstances, the amount of semen ejaculated is between 2-6 milliliters per ejaculation. If the amount of semen is less than 1.5 milliliters, it may indicate oligospermia, and more than 6 milliliters, it may indicate polyspermia. In addition, the spermatozoa should be observed for deformities and poor vitality.
3. Testicular development examination: the development of testicles also has a certain degree of influence on fertility. The main purpose is to check whether there is dysplasia in the testicles. Normal testicles are one on each side, located in the left and right scrotal pouches, oval in shape and with a smooth surface.
Evaluation of male fertility requires laboratory analysis of semen and a detailed examination of the testicles, vas deferens, seminal vesicles and other attachments, the patient is unable to determine fertility through self-examination, and it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in a timely manner to complete the relevant examinations.
