Tibial osteochondritis dissecans occurs most often in adolescents, presenting with severe pain after exercise, and not obvious on X-ray, showing only periosteal thickening and peripheral vascular dilatation and congestion. This lesion is mostly a fatigue sports injury, when adolescents have not participated in sports and participate in the first exercise or excessive exercise, it is easy to cause wear and tear of the tibia area and inflammation, with obvious pain and the typical “redness, swelling, heat, pain”. Most of the X-rays of this disease have no abnormality, because X-rays only show the condition of bones, but not the surrounding soft tissues, only periosteal thickening, subperiosteal hemorrhage and other manifestations. If young people experience shin pain after strenuous exercise, they should seek medical attention and active treatment.
