Can function be restored after radial tuberosity replacement?

After radial tuberosity replacement, the function of normal life can be restored in most cases.
Radial tuberosity replacement is mainly applied to severe comminuted fractures that are prone to accompany ischemic necrosis. In the case of young people, some occupations that require frequent rotation of the forearm (e.g. dancers, etc.), treatment with artificial radial tuberosity replacement is recommended. In the case of older people or less demanding cases, resection of the radial tuberosity can be performed.
After the replacement, the symptoms can be gradually recovered in about 2~3 months, and in most cases, the functions needed for normal life can be restored. However, it is still important to pay attention to early functional exercises, as well as appropriate weight bearing and activities after recovery.
