Psoriatic arthritis can be divided into five types, including symmetric polyarticular, spondylotic, distal interphalangeal arthritis, disfiguring joints, and monoarthritis or oligoarthritis. Different types of arthritis have different joint manifestations and should not be generalized.
1. Symmetric polyarthritis: patients may have symptoms such as pain in the proximal interphalangeal joints, limitation of movement, etc. It may involve the distal interphalangeal joints and large joints such as the wrists and elbows, and the affected joints are symmetric.
2. Spondylosis type: patients may have lower back pain, chest wall pain and other symptoms, and ligamentous bony encumbrances may be formed in the spine. In severe cases, it may cause fusion of the spine and narrowing of the joint space.
3. Distal interphalangeal joints: The patient’s distal interphalangeal joints may be red, swollen and painful. This type is usually associated with psoriatic nail lesions.
4. Destructive joints: patients may have osteolysis in the metacarpal and metatarsal bones, and joint ankylosis and deformity.
5. Monoarthritis or oligoarthritis type: the patient’s distal hands and feet, proximal toe joints, knees, ankles, hip joints and many other joints may be involved, with symptoms such as pain, morning stiffness and swelling.
It is suggested that patients should go to the hospital for professional treatment as soon as possible after being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis.
