Generally epilepsy patients can be considered cured after 3-5 years of treatment without recurrence and without abnormalities such as epileptic waves and myoelectric waves in the EEG. Epilepsy is a common neurological disease with a high incidence, and some patients’ symptoms can be relieved by medication. As the condition decreases, the dosage of medication is slowly reduced until it is discontinued. Usually, it is considered cured when there is no recurrence of epilepsy for 3 to 5 years after stopping the medication and when there is no abnormality in the brain waves. However, cured patients should not be blindly optimistic, there is also the possibility of another seizure, so in daily life should quit smoking and drinking, reduce the use of computers and cell phones, maintain a good work and rest, etc., to prevent seizures again.
