What are the symptoms of neurosyphilis?

Symptoms of neurosyphilis include paralytic dementia, spinal tuberculosis and optic atrophy. 1. Paralytic dementia: common manifestations are intellectual disability, as well as personality changes, and dementia, which can be seen as exaggerated delusions, or anxiety and depression. Neurological abnormalities such as epileptic seizures, sudden onset of hemiparesis and aphasia can also be seen. In addition, facial and finger tremors can also be seen, and severe cases are often unable to take care of themselves. 2. Spinal Cord Consumption: The corresponding manifestations are caused by damage to the posterior roots of the lumbosacral nerves and the posterior cord of the spinal cord. Damage to the posterior roots of the nerves in the lumbosacral region results in flashing pains and loss of tendon reflexes in the lower limbs, as well as decreased muscle tone and impotence. It can also be manifested as sensory ataxia, early pupil blurred reaction to light, late optic nerve atrophy and visceral crisis. 3. Optic atrophy: Optic atrophy can be an isolated manifestation of neurosyphilis or a complication of spinal tuberculosis, starting from a unilateral lesion and gradually involving the opposite side, and finally manifesting as complete blindness. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended that the patient under the guidance of a doctor for regular treatment, not self-medication, so as to avoid adverse consequences.
