Sodium vitrate injection does not cause osteoporosis. Sodium vitrate is the main component of synovial fluid, which acts as a lubricant in the joint cavity, protects the surface of articular cartilage, improves friction caused by reduced synovial fluid, inhibits cartilage degenerative changes, and increases lubrication. The side effects of sodium vitrate do not include causing osteoporosis. Sodium vitrate is mainly used as an adjunctive therapy for the treatment of deformational knee arthropathy and frozen shoulder, to relieve increased joint friction and resistance due to degenerative changes in the joints, and is usually injected directly into the joint cavity to protect the joints. Osteoporosis is caused by the decrease of estrogen and sex hormone, organ function decline, abnormal bone metabolism, abnormal calcium metabolism, etc. It is mostly seen in middle-aged and old post-menopausal women and elderly people over 70 years old. Osteoporosis can be treated with oral medication such as osteotriol or alfacalcitol and calcium supplements under the supervision of a doctor. The use of medication should be in accordance with medical advice. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor for examination and standardized diagnosis and treatment according to the doctor’s instructions, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
