Dry and flaky skin can be caused by physiological factors such as skin dehydration, or by diseases such as atopic dermatitis, dry eczema and psoriasis.
1. Physiological factors: If you drink less water or are exposed to the sun, it may lead to dehydration of the skin, which becomes dry and may lead to patches of dry skin.
2. Atopic dermatitis: the cause of the disease is not clear, may be related to genetics, the environment, as well as the season, allergies and other factors, the patient will appear dry skin, with fine flakes and cracks.
3. Dry eczema: its common causes are skin aging, too many baths and excessive water loss on the skin surface. Clinical manifestations are dry, cracked skin with flaking, with moss-like changes.
4. Psoriasis: the cause of psoriasis is mostly related to genetic and immunity factors, infection, stress and other factors may also induce psoriasis. Clinical symptoms are dry skin, rupture, red patches, often covered with silver-white scales.
There are more reasons for a patch of dry and flaky skin, and after excluding physiological factors, patients are advised to seek medical examination to find out the cause.
