What causes hyperandrogenism

Hyperandrogenism is mainly seen in ovarian diseases, testicular tumors, polycystic ovary syndrome, or adrenocortical disorders, and is usually treated with medication or surgery.
1. Ovarian disease: Ovarian tumors or follicular membranous cell hyperplasia may cause elevated androgens in women, and are usually treated by surgical removal of the tumor or hyperplasia.
2. Testicular tumors: Testicular tumors can also lead to elevated androgens in men and are mainly surgically removed.
3. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): it is usually seen in young women of childbearing age who are obese, and elevated androgens can be seen. Treatment can be under the guidance of the doctor to take hormone drugs, such as ethinyl estradiol cyproterone tablets and other treatment.
4. Adrenocortical diseases: adrenocortical tumors or congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia may lead to androgen elevation, adrenocortical cancer usually requires surgical treatment, congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia can be treated with glucocorticosteroids, such as dexamethasone, prednisone acetate tablets and so on.
The cause of hyperandrogenism needs to be clarified, and correct treatment should be carried out under the guidance of physicians, and no drugs should be used blindly by oneself.
