What’s wrong with the bottom of the heel?

Heel plantar pain may be caused by ill-fitting shoes, metatarsal tendonitis, intermetatarsal arthritis or trauma.
1. Ill-fitting shoes: When the shoes are ill-fitting, there will be more friction and extrusion on the heel, which may lead to internal damage to the heel and thus cause pain, and may also cause wear and tear on the forefoot or trigger blisters.
2. Metatarsal tendonitis: The irritation of metatarsal tendonitis can lead to heel pain, which may be caused by sports injury or chronic strain.
3. Intermetatarsal arthritis: If intermetatarsal arthritis is present, it may cause damage to the bones of the foot, leading to pain at the base of the heel.
4. Trauma: If the heel is violently bumped or squeezed, the soft tissues around the heel may be damaged, leading to pain.
If the heel pain is severe or not relieved after a period of time, it is recommended to go to the hospital to find out the cause and receive treatment.
