Precursors of Ovarian Cancer

There is no so-called precursor of ovarian cancer. Early stage ovarian cancer often has no obvious symptoms, and when symptoms appear, it is mostly advanced ovarian cancer. The main symptoms of advanced ovarian cancer are abdominal distension, abdominal mass, abdominal fluid and other gastrointestinal symptoms; some patients may have malignant manifestations such as emaciation and anemia; functional ovarian cancer that can secrete oestrogen may have irregular vaginal bleeding or postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. Ovarian cancer is a kind of ovarian malignant tumor, including epithelial tumor, germ cell tumor, sex cord-mesenchymal tumor and metastatic tumor. Ovarian cancer should be treated aggressively after the diagnosis is clear, with surgical treatment as the main treatment, supplemented by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and so on. Pelvic ultrasonography and tumor marker monitoring are helpful for ovarian cancer screening, and high-risk groups with family history should be closely monitored, so that early detection of the disease and early treatment can help to improve patients’ survival. One should go to the hospital in time when feeling unwell.
