According to Chinese medicine, “all diseases are born from qi”, qi trapped, qi cough, qi knot, qi closed, qi syncope, qi depression, etc. all appear because of the lack of qi in the human body. So what is Qi? How does Qi work in the human body? How can we maintain Qi? Let Prof. Hu tell you in an easy-to-understand way ~ Once a person has less Qi, all kinds of problems will be exposed. Qi trapping, Qi cough, Qi knot, Qi closure, Qi syncope, Qi depression, etc., will appear in the body. In Chinese medicine, there is a saying that “all diseases are born of qi”. People live with qi, and only when there is qi can there be life. One day, I watched the television about the American astronauts on the moon, the program said that some people suspect that NASA faked, the most powerful evidence is a photo published by NASA, a star-spangled banner on the moon fluttering in the wind. Scientists suspect that there is no wind on the moon, so the Stars and Stripes could not have been flown. When I saw this, I suddenly realized that the reason why there is no life on the moon is because there is no wind. What is the wind? The wind is the air of heaven and earth, its main components are air and water. How can there be life without these two things? Look at the Earth where we live, the wind is everywhere, the east wind to send spring rain, cold wind to send winter snow, it is difficult to imagine, if there is no wind, the Earth will be what? Heaven and earth is a big universe, the human body is a small universe, the wind is the air of heaven and earth, its operation follows a law, that is, “water up fire down”. The sun is fire, the sun shines on the sea is the fire in the descent, after the fire, the heat of the sun evaporates the sea into water vapor, rising, the formation of clouds in the sky, clouds descend and rain, water and back to the ground. This is how the qi of heaven and earth rises and falls, and the cycle begins again and again. The operation of the human qi human qi and the qi of heaven and earth, is also in accordance with the principle of “water rises and fire falls” operation. The fire organ in the human body is the heart, the water organ is the kidney, the heart fire down, warming the kidney water, the kidney water will rise, Chinese medicine is called “kidney water to bear”. The “Ge Zhi Yu Lun” said: “people are born, the heart for the fire on top, the kidney for the water on the bottom, water can rise and fire has fallen, a rise and a fall, there is no end has been, so the business is there.” Water up fire down, the smooth running of the gas, the body will be healthy; water does not rise fire does not fall, people will be sick. Now, many people do not move on the fire, the reason is that the operation of the gas is contrary to the law of water rising and fire falling. What is the fire? Fire is the fire that should fall does not fall. There should have been fire in the body, just as there should have been the sun in heaven and earth. In a sense, fire is life, no fire is death. Because of this, there is a “Vulcan school” in Chinese medicine, which is dedicated to replenishing fire. However, the direction of movement of fire should be downward, if the fire does not descend, always burning on top, then, the human head and face will grow acne and sores, mouth ulcers, gum swelling and pain. This is the fire. In the human body, with the heart fire down there are lung qi, stomach qi and bile qi; with the kidney water up there are spleen qi and liver qi. When the lung qi does not descend, the lung will have fire, then the person will wheeze and cough, urine is not conducive, bowel movements are not smooth, and the whole body will be swollen, chest tightness, abdominal pain. If Stomach Qi does not descend, there will be fire in the Stomach, which will lead to food insecurity, bloating, stomach pain, belching and acid swallowing, erratic vomiting. When the gallbladder Qi does not descend, the gallbladder will have fire, and then the person will suffer from gallbladder inflammation, gallstones and gallbladder polyps. Therefore, when a person is on fire, the first thing to look at is which type of Qi is not descending in his body. All diseases are born in qi, as long as the qi that should be lowered down, the fire will be extinguished naturally. Food to lower the fire Depending on the situation, people can choose different foods to lower the fire. 1, lotus seed heart to lower heart fire As the name suggests, lotus seed heart is the heart of the lotus seed, bitter taste, cold. Some Chinese medicine stores and tea stores can buy, if the heart fire, irritable, mouth ulcers, with lotus seeds heart to drink water, you can defeat the heart fire. 2, mung bean porridge to lower stomach fire mung beans taste sweet, cold. If you have fire in your stomach, you can use mung bean porridge to defeat it. 3, pear to lower the fire of the liver and gallbladder pear can be eaten raw, can also be cooked, raw can be eaten to clear the heat of the six internal organs, cooked can be eaten to nourish the yin of the five organs. Headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, dry eyes, bitter mouth, bad breath, two ribs long carbuncle. This means that you have fire on your liver and gallbladder, then you can eat some pears raw to defeat the fire. How to nourish qi? There is an old Chinese saying that the benevolent person lives long. The benevolent person enjoys the mountains and the wise person enjoys the water. What is a benevolent person? Confucius said, “The benevolent one, loves people.” And he also said, “A benevolent person is one who wants to stand up for himself and to reach others.” It means that a benevolent person should be loving, generous and not calculating; what he does not want to do, he should not let others do, and what he wants to do, he should let others do first. In a word, benevolence is loyalty and forgiveness, that is, to treat others as you would like to be treated. Specifically, a benevolent person should have three hearts: a kind heart, a compassionate heart, and a forgiving heart. With these three hearts, you will be called a benevolent person, and such a person will live a long and healthy life. I remember in the 1950s, when I was still in Shanghai, the unit was divided into furniture. An old doctor was given a set of mahogany furniture because of his high moral standing, while an administrative officer was given a set of ordinary furniture. The administrative cadre said to the old doctor: “You are old and inconvenient, let me help you send the furniture home!” The old doctor agreed, but who knows after work back home to take a look, home with a set of ordinary furniture, the set of mahogany furniture but the administrative cadres swapped pulled back to their homes. The family was outraged, to go to the administrative cadres to judge, but the old doctor said indifferently: “Forget it, things outside the body, do not be too concerned.” Soon, the incident spread within the hospital. At that time, I was still young, I heard about this incident, very do not understand, think the old doctor is too wimpy, they must not be bullied like him in the future. A few decades have passed, and now I have a deep appreciation for the old doctor’s approach. The old doctor is a true benevolent person, and benevolence is destined to be rewarded. Because of his kindness, tolerance and compassion, the old doctor lived a life without major illnesses until he was 101 years old, while the administrative cadre died of illness before he was 50 years old. The way of heaven is like this, when people are too calculating, heaven will give up on you, and when people are not calculating, heaven will help you, and this is the life of the benevolent. If you have been to Hong Kong’s Repulse Bay, you will find a small bridge two or three feet long on the shore, called the Renshou Bridge, the side of the bridge is written in three words: Renshou. I found a very interesting phenomenon, the bridge is inundated with people every day, many beggars begging in the vicinity of the bridge, and the people who come here, most are happy to give alms. Begging people get a favor, there is always a smile on the face, and almsgiving people, there is always a calm, forgiving, satisfied expression on the face. Many people walked around on the bridge and did not want to leave. Asked people to understand, the original bridge and a very attractive legend: as long as the heart of good walking across this bridge, can increase life expectancy of three years. In fact, this is not a legend, but the truth. Goodness is the medicine of all diseases, goodness is the essence of health, good heart is like soft water, nourishing the five organs and six internal organs, so that the whole body of qi and blood to balance. Goodness can make one’s heart broad, goodness can make one’s mind peaceful, goodness can keep one away from the seven emotions and six desires. A person’s good heart is quiet, nourishing blood and benefiting qi. When a person is truly good, the qi in his body will run smoothly and diseases will stay away from him. Many people are like this, when they have a disease and medicine doesn’t work, so they turn to goodness and after a few years, they slowly get better. But the kindness I am talking about must be sincere kindness, not formal kindness. I once saw this scene in Beijing Yonghe Palace, a middle-aged woman, the first day of the New Year, early in the morning to burn incense in line, probably because there was a person in front of the queue, she argued with it, and finally fist. I couldn’t help but shake my head and sigh, we all came to worship Buddha, should be with a compassionate heart, why get angry over these trivial matters? If you come to worship Buddha with such a mentality, Buddha will not be able to take care of you. Where is the Buddha? The Buddha is in your heart. If your heart is not generous, the Buddha will leave you. If you have a kind, compassionate and forgiving heart, Buddha will settle in your heart and stay there forever. What is Buddha? Buddha is not God, not a saint, not some superman, and not something supernatural. Buddha is a state of mind; it is peace. An ordinary person has Buddha nature as long as he is free from his inner selfishness, no more tantrums, no more resentment, no more jealousy, no more anger, no more sadness, no more worries and fears, and no more greed and selfishness. Life is full of sufferings, the world we live in is not a paradise, and there is always more suffering than joy. You can observe your own face, two eyebrows, a nose, plus a mouth, living and forming a Chinese character: suffering. Life is originally painful, clinging to pain, pain will be magnified a hundred times, a thousand times; chasing joy, joy will be fleeting, and ultimately disappointing. Only peace can last. A peaceful mind does not depend on circumstances, but on how we react to them. A person with Buddha nature is a person who can find and maintain peace in any situation. Such a person is tranquil and void, obedient to the true energy, and internally guarded in spirit, so naturally he or she will live a long and healthy life.
