The time for blood tests before having a colonoscopy varies according to the patient’s own condition, usually about 1 to 3 days, and the time will be prolonged if there is a problem with the lab tests.
It is often necessary to complete some necessary blood tests before colonoscopy, such as blood routine, biochemistry, coagulation routine, immune eight, anti-HIV antibody screening and blood group identification, troponin, BNP, D-dimer, tumor markers and other blood tests, which vary slightly from hospital to hospital.
In addition to the above blood tests, a complete electrocardiogram (ECG) is required before the examination, except for myocardial infarction and other serious organic diseases. If painless colonoscopy is done, anesthesia risk assessment is also required.
If there are problems with the patient’s laboratory tests, such as electrolyte disorders, they need to be corrected before the colonoscopy is performed.
