Homosexuality is not a disease. According to the latest International Classification of Diseases standards, the medical diagnosis of homosexuality as a disease has been removed. Homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is a form of sexual orientation, and sexual orientation is not determined by an individual on his or her own, nor is it done intentionally. Homosexuality is not a moral issue, and individuals are not responsible for the formation of same-sex sexual orientation. Once sexual orientation is formed, it cannot be changed through autonomy or the will of others, and there is no effective medical means to change a person’s sexual orientation.
