Can you take a pulse during menstruation?

The pulse can be taken during menstruation, but it may affect the results.
Most women’s pulse may be affected by bleeding during menstruation and may be faster than usual; some women may have a small pulse or a flooded pulse due to low or high menstrual flow, and thus pulse taking during menstruation may affect the outcome of the consultation.
If the patient seeks pulse treatment for non-menstrual related illnesses, the patient should avoid taking the pulse during the menstrual period, and preferably take the pulse within three days after the end of the menstrual period, when the results of the treatment will be more accurate. If the patient seeks treatment because of dysmenorrhea or abnormal menstrual flow, it is easier to take the pulse during the menstrual period to make an accurate judgment.
