Pulmonary ground-glass shadow and nodule are different in terms of imaging performance, nature and treatment. 1. Imaging manifestations: pulmonary ground-glass shadow refers to the cloudy slightly dense shadow found in chest CT, which can be diffuse or limited, and the limited one is ground-glass nodule. Lung nodules are round-like lesions ≤3cm, which can be categorized into solid nodules and ground-glass nodules according to their composition. 2. Nature: Frosted glass shadows are mostly caused by benign diseases such as pneumonia, alveolar proteinosis and pulmonary edema, while limited frosted glass shadows may also be caused by malignant diseases such as lung cancer and metastatic lung cancer. Lung nodules may be caused by benign non-neoplastic diseases such as pneumonia and sarcoidosis, or benign tumors such as misshapen tumors, or malignant tumors such as lung cancer, among which the risk of malignancy of ground-glass nodules is slightly higher. 3. Treatment: Both lung glassy images and lung nodules need to be treated according to the cause of the disease, for example, pneumonia can be treated with antibiotics such as ceftazidime, and lung cancer needs to be treated with radical surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatments. It is recommended that patients consult a specialist to determine the cause of the disease according to the symptoms and other relevant test results, and follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out the treatment, and the above drugs should be used under the guidance of the doctor.
