The survival period of Alzheimer’s disease onset is usually 5 to 10 years, and a few patients will survive for more than 10 years. Dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease, is a degenerative disease of the nervous system, in which patients may suffer from progressive cognitive dysfunction, loss of use, loss of cognition, and decreased thinking ability, among other clinical symptoms. At present, it is basically very difficult to cure the disease and will affect the health of the patient, resulting in a shortened life expectancy, but it is not possible to generalize how many years the patient can survive. Alzheimer’s disease can be divided into three stages, early, intermediate and late, when the patient is in the late stage, the survival time will be relatively shorter, can be due to lung infections, bedsores, urinary tract infections and other complications and death, generally can survive for 5 to 10 years, a small number of patients may be more than 10 years. Family members are advised to take the patient to the hospital for systematic treatment to slow down the progression of the disease.
