Possible causes of vague pain in the liver location include: chronic cholecystitis, gallbladder stones, liver cysts, fatty liver, liver cancer, etc.
1. Chronic cholecystitis: chronic cholecystitis is a persistent inflammatory process of the gallbladder, mostly combined with gallbladder stones. Patients mainly manifest symptoms such as abdominal distension, discomfort or hidden pain in the right upper abdomen, nausea and vomiting, which are aggravated after a full meal or eating greasy food.
2. Gallbladder stones: most of the patients with gallbladder stones have no obvious specific symptoms, only manifested as discomfort or vague pain in the right upper abdomen. When the stone is embedded in the gallbladder duct, it can cause severe biliary colic.
3. Liver cysts: Liver cysts are a common benign disease of the liver, with no obvious symptoms when the size is small, when the cysts are increasing in size, they can compress the neighboring tissues and organs and cause corresponding symptoms, such as discomfort or vague pain in the right upper abdomen, malaise, belching, dyspepsia and so on.
4. Fatty liver: Fatty liver is a clinicopathological syndrome in which fatty tissues accumulate excessively in the liver and form hepatocellular steatosis, and the patients mostly have insidious onset and slow course of the disease, which is mainly manifested as long-term chronic fatigue, abdominal distension, discomfort or vague pain in the right upper abdomen, etc. If not intervened in time, it can develop into hepatocellular carcinoma. If there is no timely intervention, it can develop into cirrhosis.
5. Hepatocellular carcinoma: Early stage of hepatocellular carcinoma has no obvious symptoms, but when the tumor volume gradually increases and pulls the peritoneum, hidden pain or dull pain in the right upper abdomen may appear.
In addition to the above diseases, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis, intrahepatic bile duct stones and so on may cause symptoms of vague pain in the liver area, so it is suggested that patients should go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the causes and then treat them accordingly.
