Thyroid cancer without surgery?

Surgery is generally recommended for thyroid cancer, and patients often have a better prognosis after surgery.
Thyroid cancer includes follicular cancer, papillary cancer, medullary cancer and undifferentiated cancer, and surgery is one of the most important means of treatment. Surgical treatment includes partial excision, subtotal excision, total excision of one side of thyroid lobe, total excision of one side of thyroid lobe plus isthmus resection, and total excision of thyroid, and the appropriate treatment method is chosen according to the different conditions of patients.
Surgical treatment can often achieve very good curative effects and even not affect the life expectancy of patients. Therefore, surgical treatment is mostly recommended for thyroid cancer.
In thyroid cancer, there is a less differentiated pathological type called undifferentiated cancer, which has a poorer prognosis. In addition to surgical treatment, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatments are also needed, and the specific choice of treatment should be based on the patient’s condition.
It is suggested that thyroid cancer patients should follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out standardized treatment, so as to avoid delaying the disease.
