Chewing garlic cloves cannot destroy the novel coronavirus. Although garlic has antiseptic, antibacterial, anticancer, anti-aging and other health functions, and there are virus-killing substances in it, these studies on garlic and garlic oil are basically at the stage of animal models or in vitro tests. There is a lack of evidence from in vivo trials as well as clinical trials, and there is no evidence that eating garlic can prevent the novel pneumonia virus, so anti-new coronavirus treatment by chewing garlic is not available.
