Scars with hard lumps left after surgery are hyperplastic scars formed after the healing of surgical incisions, and the elimination of such scars needs to be carried out in accordance with medical advice. 1. Topical medication: After surgery, scars with hard lumps can be removed with topical medication as prescribed by the doctor. Commonly used medications include anti-inflammatory creams containing steroids, moisturizing and softening creams containing silicone, and melanin creams to lighten hyperpigmentation, which are effective in fading the scars. Tretinoin injection can also be injected into the scars to promote scar atrophy. 2. Laser therapy: For mild scars after surgery, laser therapy can be used to help the collagen in the dermis to be renewed and rearranged, and to make the damaged and necrotic tissues at the skin scars be swallowed by phagocytes in the body and then be discharged out of the body, so as to achieve the purpose of smoothing out the scars. 3. Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy is suitable for superficial hyperplastic scars. Radiation therapy can greatly reduce the number of fibroblasts in the scar tissue, thus flattening and softening the scar area. 4. Surgical repair: For larger hyperplastic scars, they can be repaired through surgical treatments, such as scar excision and suturing, scar grinding, scar excision and free skin grafting. Note that once a scar is formed, it can fade, soften and shrink, but it cannot be completely eliminated.
