Lifestyle and Tumors

Tumor is an ancient disease, which has been recorded by human beings since the beginning of writing, but even in the early 20th century, tumor was still a rare disease in all countries in the world. With the development of the society, tumor has developed into a common and frequent disease that seriously endangers people’s lives. According to some information, there are nearly 11 million new cancer patients in the world every year, and more than 7 million people are killed by cancer every year, which is more than the total number of people dying from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. In China, there are 1.6 million new cancer patients and 1.3 million deaths each year. This grim reality suggests that lifestyle diseases will increasingly become a major threat to people’s health. Tens of billions of dollars are spent annually on cancer diagnosis and treatment nationwide. The reasons for the increasing incidence of tumors are many and varied. Medical research has proved that more than 60% of an individual’s health depends on his or her lifestyle, 15% on family genetics, 10% on social and environmental factors, 8% on health care facilities, and 7% on geographical and climatic conditions. Which has a close relationship with poor lifestyle and eating habits. For example, irregular life, frequent staying up late, sedentary and less moving, excessive mental tension; sedentary work and lack of physical activities, etc. Frequent staying up late: cancer cells are formed by mutation in the process of normal cell division, and night is the most vigorous period of cell division. If there is not enough sleep at night, the immunity of human body will be reduced and the mutated cells will not be easily removed in time, leading to the occurrence of cancer. The increasing incidence of lung cancer is obviously closely related to the proliferation of smoking and the rising rate of smoking. Studies have shown that the risk of lung cancer in smokers is 10-12 times greater than that of non-smokers. Nutritional imbalance and preference for meat: Experts have found that the proportion of people who eat mainly meat from pigs, cows and sheep every day is 2.5 times higher than those who eat only a small amount of meat a few times a month; the risk of pancreatic cancer also increases with the increase in the amount of meat eaten. Insufficient intake of fiber, lack of vitamins or iron and calcium are cancer triggering factors. Vitamin deficiency: People who have little protective vitamins in their body are vulnerable to cancer. Vitamin A, beta, carotene deficiency increases the risk of lung cancer by 3 times; vitamin C deficiency increases the risk of esophageal cancer and stomach cancer by 2 times and 3.5 times respectively; the incidence of lip cancer, oral cancer, skin cancer, cervical cancer, stomach cancer, intestinal cancer and lung cancer increases in people with vitamin E deficiency. In terms of dietary habits, some people like to drink hot tea and hot porridge, which can easily cause physical scalding of the digestive tract. Repeated damage, repair, re-damage and re-repair will easily lead to cancer. Excessive consumption of strong alcohol is also prone to digestive tract cancer. The process of human cells from generation to aging is regular. If this rule is broken to form rapid irregular metabolism and cells proliferate irregularly and in large quantities, it is easy to mutate and lead to cancer. Cancer in one of the spouses: The phenomenon of both spouses suffering from cancer at the same time or successively is gradually increasing, which is called “cancer in spouses”. Experts believe that the same bad lifestyle is the root cause of cancer. Genetic factors A lot of research has confirmed that a small part of cancer is clearly related to genetics. For example, if two or more female elders in the family have breast or ovarian cancer, the daughter is in the high-risk group. This does not mean that if parents have cancer, they will definitely inherit it to their children. The inherent genetic defects also work under the influence of the external environment, and if the external influences that induce cancer can be avoided, the occurrence of cancer can be completely avoided. Third, it is environmental pollution and occupational causes Environmental pollution is obviously harmful to people, including air pollution, chemical pollution and pollution from residual pesticides of fruits, vegetables and food people eat. Long-term exposure to harmful substances, such as benzene and formaldehyde, can easily lead to cancer, and more people suffer from leukemia and also solid tumors. Those who are exposed to asbestos are prone to lung cancer. Fourth, there are some medical factors such as frequent exposure to X-rays, radiation, radioactive drugs, immunosuppressants, etc. Fifth, it is some endogenous pathogenic factors such as endocrine disorders, hormones, weight loss drugs, etc. can lead to cancer. In addition to this, the average life expectancy of people is now over 70 years old, the elderly population is increasing, and cancer is mostly found in middle-aged and elderly people, which becomes more and more prominent as the per capita life expectancy increases. At present, the four cornerstones of health maintenance and promotion are “proper diet, moderate exercise, smoking and alcohol cessation, and psychological balance”, which are promoted by the World Health Organization, and will receive more and more attention from people. The call is to urgently prevent or reduce lifestyle diseases through sustained health education and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Eight elements of a healthy lifestyle: 1. Nutrition: (1) While maintaining a cereal-based dietary structure, gradually increase the intake of beans, soy products and eggs, milk, poultry and fish, and appropriately reduce staple foods. (2) Increase the intake of fresh vegetables, especially yellow-green vegetables rich in vitamin A and C, and fruits. At the same time, the need to improve the cooking method to reduce the heating for too long and a large number of vegetables in the vitamin C suffered damage, but also to increase the raw fresh vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, etc.. (3) Avoid high salt diet, each person’s daily intake of salt does not exceed 6 grams. (4) eat as little as possible pickled, waxy, smoked food 2, exercise: people need to exercise, but emphasize the need to achieve effective exercise, that is, the body feels hot, or a slight sweat, or pulse rate of 130 / min. Physical exercise not only makes people physically energetic, physically and mentally happy, but also can improve physical fitness and adaptability. According to their physical condition and hobbies to develop a suitable exercise plan, or fast walking, or jogging, or swimming and other forms of exercise. Currently, aerobic gymnastics has received increasing attention, it can increase the maximum oxygen uptake and physical endurance. This is very beneficial to people who are used to sedentary work. 3, drink water: water is the source of life, people can not live without water. Advocate drinking enough clean water, 6 to 8 cups a day, promote drinking plain water, do not drink drinks containing sugar, caffeine and gas. 4, sunlight: sunlight has many functions, such as the sun’s ultraviolet rays can sterilize, but also promote the synthesis of vitamin D in the body, sunlight can improve the body’s immunity. 5, abstinence: is to abstain from their desires, including appetite, the desire for material possessions, the desire for fame and status, etc. 6, air: emphasize that you should go out in nature and breathe fresh air. Avoid living in dirty air, to protect the natural environment, to promote the clean living environment of human beings. 7, rest: people need to combine work and rest, after work and labor, need a good rest. First of all, should ensure adequate sleep time, if long periods of sleep deprivation, easy to cause the body’s immune function is low, it is easy to disease. 8, faith and belief: From the psychological point of view, faith and belief is the indispensable basis for adjusting a good mental state. To get healthy, we should have the right beliefs, believe in science and establish the right concept of health. We should have a sense of self-care responsibility, understand and master the necessary health care and prevention knowledge, abandon bad health habits such as smoking and alcoholism, and at the same time, should strengthen the awareness of protecting the living environment. Should try to avoid smoking, burning stoves and frying oil smoke pollution of the living room. In particular, we should emphasize that smoking at will, regardless of the occasion, not only damage the smoker’s own health, but also make family members or non-smokers around suffer the hazards of passive smoking. The elimination of passive smoking has become one of the signs of civilization in modern cities.
