What to do if a nodule is found again after lung cancer surgery

New nodules found after lung cancer surgery are usually treated by drug therapy, surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

1. Drug treatment: Generally speaking, lung cancer patients who find new nodules after operation can be treated with gefitinib, bevacizumab, interferon and other drugs under the guidance of doctors.

2. Surgical treatment: if new nodules are found after lung cancer surgery, which is caused by recurrence after surgery, if the patient’s physical condition is better, he/she can undergo surgery and cooperate with doctor for surgical treatment; if the patient’s physical condition can no longer bear the second surgery, it is recommended to cooperate with doctor to take other treatments.

3. Radiotherapy or chemotherapy: early radiotherapy or chemotherapy can kill some tumor cells when the nodule is small, which can reduce patients’ pain and prolong their survival time.

It is recommended that patients should consult doctors in time after they find new nodules after lung cancer surgery, and treat them accordingly under doctors’ guidance.
