Autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome and mental retardation are diseases that affect the physical and mental health and development of children all over the world, causing a huge economic burden and pressure on families and society, which is a serious social problem. So far, the medical community lacks effective drug or surgical treatments for these disorders, and many families of children with these disorders have delayed treatment due to lack of knowledge about the disorders, and more parents have given up active treatment because they cannot find effective treatments and locations. Therefore, finding a correct treatment method has become an urgent task for the current medical community. After a lot of clinical practice, acupuncture, especially Jin San Acupuncture, is very effective in treating children’s encephalopathy, so we advocate that the best treatment method for children’s encephalopathy is to use integrated therapy, which is based on Jin San Acupuncture, together with rehabilitation training and family education. The State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China has designated Jin San Acupuncture as a “clinically appropriate treatment for children with encephalopathy”. Acupuncture treatment for children’s encephalopathy is based on head acupuncture points, together with evidence-based acupuncture points. The head acupuncture points are mainly based on the neurological distribution of the brain, meridian doctrine and clinical experience, with regional acupuncture points: in Jin San Acupuncture Therapy, the “Zhi San Acupuncture” in the frontal area is mainly for intelligence, the “Si Shen Acupuncture” on the top of the head is mainly for the mind, and the “Temporal San Acupuncture” on the temporal side is mainly for the mind. The “temporal three needles” correspond to the central anterior-posterior gyrus, which is the main limb movement and sensation, and the “cerebral three needles” at the back of the brain correspond to the cerebellum, which is the main attack on balance.
