What is bowel obstruction after surgery for bowel cancer?

The causes of intestinal obstruction after surgery of intestinal cancer include intestinal adhesion, tumor recurrence, constipation and so on.
1. Intestinal adhesion: secretion and inflammatory mediators will occur after surgery of intestinal cancer, which will cause adhesion in the intestinal tube, thus leading to narrowing of intestinal tube and intestinal obstruction.
2. Tumor recurrence: after surgery for intestinal cancer, tumor recurrence will occur, and tumor enlargement will cause occupancy and blockage of intestinal tube, causing intestinal obstruction.
3. Constipation: due to dryness of stool or slowing down of intestinal peristalsis, stools gather and cannot be discharged normally, thus forming intestinal obstruction.
After surgery for intestinal cancer, no matter what causes the intestinal obstruction, it should be treated in time to relieve the obstruction to avoid serious consequences.
