How to test yourself to see if your membranes have broken

How to test yourself for a broken membrane depends on whether it is a hymen or an amniotic membrane. The hymen is generally located at the vaginal opening, a very thin membrane with a small hole in the middle, because this location is relatively hidden and basically invisible to oneself, it is more difficult to self-test. The most common causes of hymen rupture are sexual intercourse, cycling, and accidental injury. Once ruptured, it can cause vaginal bleeding and vulvar pain. If you can’t identify it, it is recommended to go to a hospital gynecological examination. The rupture of the amniotic membrane mostly occurs in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, and the vaginal discharge is more during this period, which can be perceived as a rupture of the amniotic membrane. The self-test can be done by wiping the discharge clean and replacing it in its own place several times. If there is constant flow of water again, it is considered that the amniotic membrane has broken. You must go to the hospital promptly.
