Signs of Stenosis

Vascular stenosis is a thickening of the vessel wall and narrowing of the vessel lumen caused by atherosclerosis, trauma, tumor compression, or other congenital factors. The signs of stenosis vary according to arterial and venous vessels. Arterial stenosis can be considered when headache, dizziness, chest tightness, shortness of breath, etc., and venous stenosis can be considered when edema and numbness of distal limbs occur. Arterial stenosis: If there are mild headache, dizziness, numbness, weakness of limbs, difficulty in walking, memory loss, cognitive impairment, language dysfunction, sluggishness, etc., it may indicate cerebral arterial stenosis; if there are unexplained chest pain, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, fatigue, suffocating, etc., it is necessary to consider whether there is stenosis of the pulmonary artery. Venous stenosis: If there is edema, numbness, sensory impairment of distal limbs, etc., it can be considered as tumor compression or other reasons leading to venous stenosis, which causes obstruction of blood reflux. In case of unexplained dizziness and headache, chest tightness, shortness of breath, lower limb edema, intermittent claudication, etc., it is recommended to go to regular hospitals and follow the doctor’s instructions after the doctor finds out the cause.
