Chinese medicine believes that the main treatment for deficiency of essence and blood is to fill the essence and blood. Deficiency of essence and blood usually indicates a lack of innate endowment (inborn constitution and poor functioning), a lack of maintenance in later life, or a serious and prolonged illness, and a poor functioning of the body in general; clinically, this can be seen in symptoms such as fatigue, emaciation, hair loss, loosening of teeth, forgetfulness, insomnia, loss of appetite, lumbar and knee soreness, weakness, loss of vision, ringing in the ears, and loss of memory. Because TCM practitioners believe that the kidneys store the body’s essence and the liver preserves most of the body’s blood, treatment is generally based on the method of filling the essence and blood, which means nourishing the liver and kidneys, benefiting the essence and nourishing the blood (tonifying the essence and nourishing the blood).
If there is a deficiency of essence and blood, it is recommended to go to the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the hospital, cooperate with the Chinese medicine practitioner to identify and guide, and follow the doctor’s instructions to use medication, so as to avoid delays in the condition, resulting in adverse consequences.
