There are many kinds of drugs that can be used to increase blood lipids, such as statins, fibrates, niacin, intestinal drugs that inhibit cholesterol absorption and so on. The mechanism of action of different drugs is not the same, but the most commonly used drugs in clinical practice are statins. As a class of drugs that mainly lower cholesterol, statins are very effective and extremely important in the treatment of dyslipidemia and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Then there are the beta drugs, which mainly lower triglycerides, i.e. patients with high triglyceride levels can use beta drugs. Statins and beta drugs are the two types of lipid-lowering drugs most used in clinical practice.
