What to do when a blister on your hand breaks

When the blisters abraded on your hands break, you need to treat them with local disinfection, topical or systemic medication as soon as possible.
1. Local disinfection: you can use iodophor or disinfectant alcohol to wipe the broken part, the purpose is to clean up the local bacteria and other microorganisms, to prevent secondary infection.
2. Topical medication: When the blisters are easily infected after rupture, it is recommended to apply erythromycin ointment, mupirocin ointment and fusidic acid ointment after disinfection to prevent infection.
3. Systemic medication: If the blister rupture area is large and the infection is more serious, you can choose to take oral cefixime, cefaclor and other antibiotics; if there is obvious pain, and then take acetaminophen, ibuprofen and other pain medication.
If the area of the blister is small and no symptoms of infection, you can disinfect it and observe it; if the area of the blister is large or the infection is serious, it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner and receive targeted treatment under the guidance of a physician. The medication should be in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
