The complete formula and grams of Blood Stasis Relieving Tang are 12g of peach kernel, 9g of safflower, 9g of Angelica sinensis, 9g of Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, 9g of hyssop, 4.5g of Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, 4.5g of Platycodon Grandiflorus, 6g of Paeonia lactiflora, 6g of Hovenia Citri Reticulatae, 3g of Glycyrrhiza glabra, 3g of Chai Hu. Hematopoietic Blood Stasis Tang is mainly used to treat blood stasis in the chest. In this formula, peach kernel, safflower, red peony and chuanxiong activate blood circulation to dispel blood stasis; raw radix et rhizoma is used with angelica to nourish blood, nourish yin and clear blood stasis and heat, so that blood stasis is eliminated without damaging yin; hyssop expels blood stasis to open up the menstruation (eliminating blood stasis and dredging the menstruation veins) and induces the blood to go downward; platanum carries the medicine upward, and with citrus husk, one ascends and the other descends, so as to regulate qi and broaden the chest. In addition, the formula of Chai Hu dredges the liver and relieves depression (through dredging the liver qi to treat depression); Platycodonopsis, Citrus aurantium and Chai Hu make the qi move and the blood move; Glycyrrhiza glabra harmonizes all the medicines (harmonizing the properties of different traditional Chinese medicines). The combination of all the herbs is effective in activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis (promoting blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis in the body), and promoting qi circulation and relieving pain (relieving pain by regulating the body’s qi).
