Pulmonary fibrosis cannot be cured at present, but can only slow down the disease progression, improve the quality of life and prolong the survival period. The treatment of pulmonary fibrosis should pay attention to various aspects such as drug therapy, non-drug therapy, comorbidity therapy, exacerbation therapy and self-management.
1. Pharmacological treatment: Pirfenidone and Nidazanib can effectively reduce the decline in lung function caused by pulmonary fibrosis.
2. Non-pharmacological treatment: patients should try their best to do pulmonary rehabilitation training, and patients with significant hypoxemia at rest should also undergo long-term oxygen therapy.
3. Lung transplantation: the most effective treatment at present.
4. Treatment of comorbidities: active treatment of comorbidities, but pulmonary fibrosis combined with pulmonary hypertension, do not recommend the use of bosentan for treatment.
5. Treatment of acute exacerbation of pulmonary fibrosis: oxygen therapy, infection prevention and control, high-dose hormone, symptomatic treatment, mechanical ventilation is not recommended for the treatment of respiratory failure due to pulmonary fibrosis, except for emergency resuscitation.
6. Patient self-management: quit smoking, pay attention to the prevention of influenza and pneumonia.
If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for active treatment to slow down the development of the disease.
