Do fractures always require surgery?

Fractures are very common in the lives of recent generations. The fracture is due to the disruption of the continuity of the bone and the inability to perform the function, so some fixation needs to be given to allow the bone to recover. The general treatment principle is: if the fracture is not displaced, it can be treated conservatively, such as using extracorporeal fixation like plaster or splint, fixing for a period of time and then removing after the fracture has healed. However, surgery is required in the following cases: 1. open fracture; 2. with vascular nerve injury; 3. difficult to fix externally, such as femoral stem fracture and femoral neck fracture; 4. intra-articular fracture, which is difficult to reset; 5. fracture is obviously displaced, and the functional alignment cannot be achieved by manual repositioning, etc. At present, surgery for fractures is a very mature technology, as long as you master the principles and cooperate with the doctor’s active treatment, most of the fractures can heal, without fear of surgery or rejection of surgery.
