Six-month-old babies with mild hydrocephalus can be treated with medication and surgery. 1. Medication: There are some differences between individuals, and the following medications are recommended to be used under doctor’s supervision. (1) Furosemide can rapidly reduce the total amount of fluid in the child’s body, thus lowering the amount of cerebrospinal fluid. (2) Mannitol increases intravascular osmotic pressure, which may reduce intracranial pressure. (3) Acetazolamide can reduce the production of cerebrospinal fluid, reducing cerebrospinal fluid from the source. 2. Surgical treatment: The current surgical methods mainly include ventricular shunt and ventriculoscopic third ventricle fundoplication. Drug treatment can only help to relieve the symptoms, and surgical treatment is the main method of treatment. Children diagnosed with hydrocephalus are advised to actively seek medical attention.
