Could the vague pain in the left upper abdomen under the rib cage be cancer?

Whether vague pain under the ribs in the left upper abdomen is cancer depends on the situation and does not necessarily mean that it is cancer. The symptoms of hidden pain under the ribs on the left upper abdomen are usually considered as stomach diseases, including superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcer and Helicobacter pylori infection, which can lead to painful symptoms in patients. Patients may usually have abdominal distension, acid reflux, and burning sensation, which can be aggravated after eating. If middle-aged and elderly people have vague pain under the ribs in the left upper abdomen, they also need to exclude the possibility of malignant tumor. Cancer patients may have symptoms such as loss of appetite, weight loss, black stool and diarrhea along with the pain. Patients are usually advised to go to the hospital gastroenterology department for gastroscopy. If the patient is diagnosed with stomach tumor, he/she should actively choose surgery and other treatments. Avoid cold, spicy and cold foods and alcohol consumption.
