At present, the surgical treatment of chronic appendicitis includes open surgery to remove the appendix and laparoscopic surgery to remove the appendix. Taking open surgery to remove the appendix as an example, the specific operation process is anesthesia, incision selection, searching for the appendix, appendiceal peritoneal treatment, appendiceal root treatment and incision suture.
1. Anesthesia: choose intravenous compound anesthesia or lumbar-rigid combined anesthesia according to the patient’s own situation.
2. Incision selection: Generally, the incision is made at the Mai’s point, which is located between the umbilicus and the middle and outer thirds of the right anterior superior iliac spine.
3. Finding the appendix: most of the appendix is under the incision, which is easy to expose, or the appendix can be found by exploring along the colonic band toward the cecum.
4. Management of the appendiceal mesentery: the appendiceal mesentery is clamped with an appendiceal forceps and then ligated, including the appendiceal vessels, and then the mesentery is cut.
5. Treatment of the root of the appendix: the appendix is ligated at 0.5 cm from the cecum, the appendix is cut off at 0.5 cm distal to the ligature line, the stump is treated with carbolic acid or electrocautery, and the appendix stump is buried in the cecum for fixation.
6. Incision suture: suture the incision layer by layer and cover the incision with dressing.
If you suffer from chronic appendicitis, it is recommended to consult a hospital for standardized treatment.
