How to take cimetidine

Usually you can take cimetidine as cimetidine tablets, cimetidine capsules, cimetidine oral milk, with different dosage and usage as follows.
1. Cimetidine tablets: oral, adults 2 times a day, not more than 4 times in 24 hours;
2. Cimetidine capsules: treatment of duodenal ulcer or pathological high secretion state, 4 times a day, after meals and before bedtime; prevention of ulcer recurrence, once a day, before bedtime; renal insufficiency patients for 12 hours once; elderly patients with the dosage of discretionary reduction. Pediatrics: Oral, 2~4 times a day.
3. Cimetidine oral milk: oral, adults 2 times a day, not more than 4 times in 24 hours.
Long-term use of cimetidine tablets and cimetidine oral milk or increase the dose can occur: gynecomastia, lactation phenomenon, loss of libido, diarrhea, dizziness or headache, muscle cramps or myalgia, skin rashes, hair loss and other adverse reactions, pregnant women and lactating women are prohibited from using this product.
The more common adverse reactions of cimetidine capsules are diarrhea, dizziness, weakness, headache and rash. It is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women. Use with caution in young children.
