The efficacy of nebulized inhalation is closely related to the local deposition rate of the nebulized solution in the respiratory tract; the higher the deposition rate, the relatively stronger its therapeutic effect. Some patients may experience adverse reactions such as coughing and wheezing during nebulized inhalation due to improper cooperation. Therefore, patients may suffer from gastroesophageal reflux or even aspiration by mistake after eating because of violent coughing, and may be advised to eat on an empty stomach or at the end of nebulized inhalation treatment. Some clinical reports show that eating after nebulized inhalation can improve the deposition rate of drugs, which is conducive to improving the efficacy of nebulized inhalation therapy for acute pharyngitis and other conditions. Clinically, after the application of glucocorticoid nebulizer inhalation treatment, it is necessary to rinse the mouth with water or eat immediately, which can reduce the deposition of hormones in the oropharynx, thus reducing the adverse incidence of hoarseness and oral fungal infection.
