SLE cannot be cured at present, and the treatment needs to be individualized, but long-term remission can be achieved after reasonable treatment, so general treatment and medication can be carried out according to the doctor’s instructions.
1. General treatment: SLE patients also need psychological treatment; bed rest during the acute activity period; chronic patients with stabilized condition can work appropriately, but don’t overwork; early detection and treatment of infections; avoiding the use of drugs that may induce lupus, such as birth control pills; avoiding strong sunlight and ultraviolet irradiation.
2. Medication: SLE patients can take glucocorticosteroids such as methylprednisolone and prednisone acetate under professional doctor’s guidance; as well as choose appropriate immunosuppressants such as hydroxychloroquine and cyclophosphamide according to their conditions; and choose biological agents such as belimumab and rituximab if necessary.
SLE patients can achieve better efficacy through active and standardized general treatment and medication, and the condition can usually be effectively controlled and the survival period of patients can be improved.
It is recommended that SLE patients should seek medical treatment in time and follow the doctor’s instructions, and do not use medication on their own.
