Discoscopic techniques can make traditional surgery minimally invasive and can replace traditional open surgery in most cases, but they are not suitable for all patients. The percutaneous puncture technique cannot be used in patients with the following conditions: ruptured discs, central disc herniation with cauda equina symptoms, and combined spinal stenosis. In conclusion, cases that can be treated with radiofrequency, ozone, laser and other techniques must be treated with general non-surgical treatment. Patients who require surgical treatment must not be suitable for the use of these puncture techniques. There is no perfect technique, and the best one is the one that suits the patient’s specific situation, rather than saying that it is good or bad regardless of the specific situation.
