What does poor prognosis mean?

Prognosis is a medical term that generally refers to the effect of recovery, that is, whether there is subsequent recurrence of metastasis. Poor prognosis may be prone to early recurrence and metastasis or poor treatment effect, which may threaten the life and health of patients. For example, when it is found, it is already an advanced malignant tumor and loses the chance of surgical treatment. In this case, the prognosis is generally poorer if we simply do palliative chemotherapy and other anti-tumor treatments. If some malignant tumors are found to be in early stage and can be cured by surgery, the prognosis is generally better. However, this is not specific to a particular person, but mainly to the pathological type of the tumor. Therefore, some malignant tumors with poor prognosis may have improved prognosis if they are treated reasonably.
